Decorations Guides

While a large portion of the decoration will be the flowers and floral arrangements, lighting, place settings, drapes and table setting are also important to the overall look and feel of your reception. Some of the elements that will help you achieve that dream look are discussed in our decoration guide below. It should be noted that these elements can all be used together.

Lighting

Lighting has the power to transform look and feel of your reception almost as much as flowers. Candles, overhead lighting, colored lighting, projected images on walls and floors, can be part of reception decor theme. You can fill shallow bowls with water and place floating candles in place of centerpeices on tables. Arranged high and low pillar candles near a mirror can provide a candelar effect. A strategically placed burning pot can added a spark of tradition to your traditional weddings.

Balloons

Balloons bring an air of celebration to your occassion. Since they come is so many colours, you have an opportunity to experiment while capturing the colours of the day. Ribbon streamers trailing down can be added to the balloons for extra effect. Balloon arch or aisle lined up with balloon are becoming common these days.

Drapes and ribbons

Drapes are fast becoming the default for stage decorations. They have the ability to add depth to any hall if properly used. For extra effects, you can wrap drapes around pillar or columns if there are any in the reception grounds. Consider using ribbon or bows for highlights on your colourful decorations. Bows can be tied on doorknobs. Chairs can be covered with soft fabrics for an added strike. Ribbons can be tied on glass stems. The opportunities are endless.
