Honeymooning at The Ranch, Obudu I

This well-known resort is on the Nigeria/Cameroon border, at the base of the Sankwala Mountains on the Oshie Ridge in eastern Nigeria. The drive to the Ranch passes through tall dense forests with canopies of branches that completely block out the sun.At the summit, you`re above the clouds, with breathtaking views of rolling mountain ranges.

Founded in 1949 by Scottish ranchers, the resort was developed into a well-functioning ranch, equipped with a dairy, meat processing factory and honey production plant.

80 well-appointed en-suite GUEST cottages add to the ambience of this mountaintop treat, located in a malaria and tsetse fly-free area.

In-room services and facilities include: telephone, colour television with 5 DSTV Satellite channels (including movies, sport and CNN), mini-bar fridge, heaters (temperatures on the mountains are moderate to cool!), private balconies and wood-burning fireplaces in some rooms

Wine and Dine facilities at the Protea Hotel Obudu Ranch include The Terrace Restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the Homestead Bar & Lounge, which has a tea and coffee service, a snack menu and log fires when required.

An airstrip at Bebi, 55km from the resort, makes it accessible by charter flights. Sporting facilities include tennis, hiking, swimming and horse riding
