There is a school of thought that say it functionality is the greatest consideration when choosing the wedding shoes. The colour and style matter too. Imagine the groom sweeping you off your feet and someone saying "whao great shoes"! Our guide will look at the factors to consider when choosing the shoes.

The colours

White is the natural choice, but these days, some brides have opted for silver shoes. For grooms, black is the natural choice, but browns are okay.

Comfort

This is definitely the greatest factor. You are going to spend almost the whole day standing, so you better get shoes that are very conmfortable. Low heeled shoes should be considered strongly and sandals are a very good option for brides.

Style

Ensure your choice of shoes complement your dress and your wedding theme. You will have memories of the shoes in pictures and video. If your wedding dress is elaborate, opt for a simple shoes. For simple dresses, elaborate shoes will do fine. Elements of the shoe styles are enumarated below:

• Heel Size: A heel that is comfortable should be chosen, however heels ranges from 1/4" to 3 1/2".
• Heel Type: Include low, sabrina, stacked, stiletto, and wedge. Choose the one that you are used to walking with.
• Toe Type: Your options range from open, pointed, rounded, sandal, to the square toe.

Fabric

Shoes can come in the following fabrics: crepe, lace, leather, satin, silk, and velvet.

Fitting

Make sure your shoes are your size. Also, when going for your bridal gown fitting, take the shoes along with other accessories to ensure everything fits.

Pricing

Stick to your Budget. No matter how tempted you may be by a particular shoe, if the price is above your budget substantially, let it pass.

Break Them In

Ensure you wear the shoes a couple of times before the D- day. You can wear the in the evening round the house, to break them in. This is neccesary so that you can avoid having blisters that day. Remember you are going to dance in those shoes.
